Before adding rate plans please read how billing works.

To add a rate plan

  1. Log in to the Enswitch web interface.
  2. Go to Commerce » Rate plans.
  3. Click the "New" button.
  4. Enter the following:
    • A name for the rate plan.
    • Optionally a description.
    • Whether this rate plan inherits settings from any other rate plan. If "Your own rate plan" is chosen, settings will be inherited from the rate plan the system has set for you. Any settings in this rate plan override the inherited values for any customers on this rate plan.
    • Whether resellers may set their rate plans to inherit from this rate plan.
    • Whether to share the rate plan with resellers. If so, they can assign this to their customers but they cannot edit the rate plan. If recursive, the rate plan is accessible to resellers' resellers, and so on.
    • The currency that this rate plan's prices are in. This also acts as the default for any customers choosing this rate plan in the signup wizard.
    • How long after invoices are issued they become due.
    • How long after invoices become due they become overdue.
    • The billing period. The fees are charged at the start of each billing period. If set to "Indefinite", the fees are never charged.
    • Whether billing is delayed until the start of the next billing period for new customers.
    • Whether new customers have a minimum contract.
    • Whether to send invoices to customers.
    • Whether to send invoices in .pdf or .xml format.
    • How much detail to include on invoices.
    • The customer service email address.
    • Whether to copy the customer service email address on emails to customers.
    • The customer service telephone number.
    • Whether to divert outbound calls from the customer's telephones to customer service if the customer is locked or out of credit.
    • What precision to round call costs to. Costs around rounded to the nearest value, not necessarily up or down.
    • The maximum amount customers on this rate plan may spend per day before being locked. This can be overridden per customer later.
    • The minimum top-up and call credit on sign-up.
    • Whether to purge customers' voicemails. This can be overridden per customer later.
    • The maximum number of voicemails per mailbox directory. Faxes are not affected by this setting. This can be overridden per customer later.
    • Whether customers may receive callerid from external sources. This can be overridden per customer later.
    • The default markups for calls in and out. The percentages you set are added to the amount calls cost you to calculate the costs to your customers. These can be overridden by exceptions later. Note that if the cost to you is negative (i.e. you receive a rebate), then by setting a positive markup you are giving your customers a larger rebate than you receive.
    • Whether any call minutes are included in the rate plan. If so, calls will be free until these are used up, then calls revert to normal cost. Which destinations are included is set per outbound group.
    • Whether unused minutes roll over for one month.
    • For customers using the self sign up, the default settings for their customer. This does not affect customers you create by hand, as you can set these options when creating the customer.
    • The defaults for the class of service. These can be overridden by exceptions later. Each rate plan includes a class of service that behaves like customers' classes of service, but which affects customers using the rate plan rather than users in the same customer.
    • The maximum number of calls per customer. Inbound, outbound, and total are counted independently. Internal calls are not counted. This can be overridden for each customer.
    • Whether to reject all calls when the customer reaches the maximum calls, or whether to allow the calls at additional cost.
  5. Click the "Save" button.
  6. In the list rate plans page, click on the plan you have just created.
