If you upgraded the kernel, first reboot. This is to ensure that the kernel running matches the kernel source installed.

CentOS:

groupadd -r uucp
useradd -r -g uucp -d /var/spool/uucp -m uucp

All distributions:

To install Asterisk 16 (recommended) from source, along with supporting packages:

enswitch install asterisk-16

To install Asterisk 13 from source, along with supporting packages:

enswitch install asterisk-13
