If you upgraded the kernel, first reboot. This is to ensure that the kernel running matches the kernel source installed.

To install Asterisk 1.8.X (recommended) from source, along with supporting packages:

enswitch install asterisk-18

To install Asterisk 1.6.2.X (for use in existing clusters) from source, along with supporting packages:

enswitch install asterisk-162
