Enswitch can receive requests from Intouch Digital hotel Property Management System (PMS) gateways to update the status of hotel rooms, and send the CDRs for these rooms to the gateway.

To add a new hotel PMS gateway connection

  1. Log in to the Enswitch web interface as a system owner.
  2. Create a customer for the hotel itself, selecting "Normal customer". Use whatever billing settings you wish.
  3. Switch to the new customer.
  4. Create four classes of service. One corresponds to internal calls within the hotel only, one corresponds to free calls only, one corresponds to national calls only, and one corresponds to all calls allowed. Use discretion when configuring these - for example, it may not be desirable to include high-fraud destinations in "all calls allowed".
  5. Create a sub-customer under the hotel customer for each room. Setting the billing type to "Post-paid", and billing type to "External application". You do not need to set any credit limit as this will be updated by the PMS gateway later. Ignore the credit limit warning when saving.
  6. Within each room customer, create a telephone. You do not need to set the caller name, class of service, or DND status as these will be updated by the PMS gateway later.
  7. Switch back to the system owner customer.
  8. Go to System » Hotel gateways.
  9. Click the "New" button.
  10. Enter the following:
    • A name for the hotel. This will typically be the same as the hotel's customer name.
    • Optionally a description.
    • Select which customer is the hotel customer.
    • The IP address of the Intouch Digital PMS gateway.
    • Optionally, a property identifier sent by the gateway. This will normally be blank.
    • Choose which class of service to use for each COS status requested by the gateway.
  11. Click the "Save" button.
  12. Create any shared feature codes or feature prefixes for room functions such as maid codes, reception, etc. Typically, these would forward to fixed SIP URIs at the PMS gateway. Refer to the gateway documentation for more details of where to forward them to.
  13. If you wish Enswitch to send CDRs to the gateway, enable the "Send CDRs to hotel gateways" setting under System » Configuration. Do not enable this unless you intend to use it, as it can impact scalability.
  14. Test that updating room credit limits, caller names, DND statuses, and MWI statuses in the hotel PMS automatically updates these settings for the room customers and their telephone lines within Enswitch.
  15. If configured, test that calls made by rooms' telephone lines appear in the hotel PMS.
