An inbound group is a set of numbers that are billed at the same rate. Typically, an inbound group would be an area code. Groups can have multiple time chunks, which allows calls to the group to be billed at different rates at different times of the day and days of the week.
To add a new inbound group
- Log in to the Enswitch web interface.
- Go to System » Inbound groups.
- Click the "New" button.
- Enter the following:
- A name for the group.
- Optionally a description.
- How the group is shown on invoices, for example "National". If not set, the name is used.
- Any tags for the group, separated by spaces, for example "national". Bulk changes can subsequently be done by tag.
- Optionally an area code. If you enter an area code, customers will be able to choose numbers according to the code.
- What currency inbound call costs are in.
- Whether the group counts towards the free minutes included in each rate plan.
- Whether to bill call cards for inbound calls via numbers in this inbound group.
- Whether customers can choose numbers in this group when signing up.
- Whether numbers in this group may be used as callerids. If set to "no", the group will not be offered during signup or residential customers.
- Whether to put numbers that customers have ported from other providers into this group. To allow customers to port numbers in, you must also enable in a number class and the features for any applicable rate plans.
- Click the "Save" button.
If calls in to this group are chargeable, then:
- Return to the list of groups.
- Click on the name of the group you have created.
- Click on the "Default" time.
- Enter the price that carriers charge you for calls to this group, i.e. the "buy" price.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Add other time chunks if you are charged different prices at different times of the day or days of the week. If two or more time chunks are active at any time, the one with the highest priority is used.
Once the group has been created, numbers can be added to it.
