This is a list of major new features in Enswitch 2.12. It is not an exhaustive list; minor enhancements are too many to list. A full list of features is also available.

  • Call prices (both inbound and outbound) have start and end dates as well as priorities. It's therefore possible to load future pricing in advance.
  • Multiple database connections, with separate connections for reads and updates. This allows the cluster to scale beyond one MySQL primary server.
  • System configuration can now be edited on the web interface.
  • Many new features for queues, including hunt group style ring all, priority round-robin, and better control of login/logout.
  • Email alerts for abnormal or potentially fraudulent calls.
  • Email confirmation of outbound faxes.
  • New options for automatic provisioning of Aastra and Polycom telephones, including provisioning of speed dial buttons.
  • More options for rate plan inheritance.
  • Calls can be rejected if the rate plan has no specific pricing exception for the destination.
  • Call recording on demand using a feature prefix on the called number.
  • Call screening can play different files based on call flow.
  • Customers can be allowed to make calls beyond their configured maximum, and be charged extra for such calls.
  • Support for Asterisk 1.6. Asterisk 1.4 will continue to be the default platform for this version.
  • The ability for customers to upload their own music files (requires Asterisk 1.6).
  • AJAX based receptionist control panel with drag and drop to redirect calls (experimental in 2.12; will be fully supported in future versions).
