Most changes in Enswitch 3.9 purely add functionality, but some change or remove functionality. Here is a list of such changes. If any of these adversely affect you, please contact support as soon as possible.
- To improve security, the default randomly chosen passwords for new people and telephone lines are now 8 characters, and randomly chosen PINs for feature codes, numbers, mailboxes, and remote access accounts are now 6 digits. These can be changed via their configuration settings.
- If the system is set to record register events, please set the new "Delete events after days" configuration setting after upgrading.
- The call history and transactions .csv exports add a new column for the balance after the call or transaction.
- The phones save hook has been replaced with create and update hooks.
- Warning emails are now sent to customers when they exceed 75% of their daily spending limit, if set. To change this percentage, or disable this feature, edit the new "Maximum call spending per day warning percentage" configuration setting.
- The filenames of voicemails and faxes attached to emails have changed.
- The code to send email notifications for outbound faxes has be completely redesigned, and behaves differently. In particular, a notification email is sent after each fax attempt. If these are important, please test after the upgrade.
- The "Conference video" configuration setting has been removed as no recent version of Asterisk supports it, and the code to pass this setting to Asterisk conflicts with Asterisk 11.
- Call history reporting is locked to prevent multiple concurrent reports.
- The CALLER variable for voicemail notifications has been removed, with CALLERID providing the same value.
- As always, some SOAP API functions have changed. Please see /opt/enswitch/current/doc/api_changes.txt for a list.
